5:00pm, Sun 29 Aug 2010 : Speak more effectively with Storkeys' Team
|
|
Having just returned from the Toastmasters International Convention in Palm Desert, California and being elected to the Board as an International Director, has reinforced my belief that being a good public speaker enhances ones effective leadership skills. Toastmasters is the leading communications and leadership training organisation in the world and it is no accident that the organisation links these two skills together.
An effective leader has to be able to communicate with their staff, business associates, customers and the community at large in order to achieve the objectives that they set. Any inability to speak in public can only put that leader at a disadvantage when trying to get their message across and sell themselves. Knowing what to say is only half the battle, knowing how to say it and convince others is the secret to effective leadership.
Does speaking in front of an audience make you nervous? Do you get the most out of every opportunity to sell yourself and your business to potential new customers, at trade shows and at networking nights? With the Tourism Awards coming up, will you be confident during the judge's inspection and can you give a good acceptance speech if you win?
Storkeys’ Team, in conjunction with Tourism Whitsunday, is offering members the chance to enhance their effectiveness in selling themselves. Improve your skills in addressing an audience, how to prepare your presentation and deliver an interesting, informative and enthusiastic snapshot of what you or your business has to offer.
Numbers are limited to 12 to ensure the effectiveness of the session, so places will fill quickly.
